About Me....

Ian Leggett web design logo After graduating with a HND in Product Design and Manufacture at Somerset College of Arts and Tech I started my journey for a full time position in my area of study.

Living in Barnstaple North Devon made my possibilities of finding the right job a complete nightmare. After working in many bars and various mind numbing jobs I managed to land a good position working for an Internet based business in Barnstaple North Devon! The company I worked for had developed an extremely successful online B2B directory.

They had job vacancies for Account Managers to sell and manage online advertisement on their directory so I went for it. It was not the ideal job for me as I wanted to work as a Product Designer but the money was good so I thought I would save enough to head up to the likes of London to up my possibilities of finding the right job a bit more hopeful.

After two and half years of selling at the company I had grown a huge interest in web design and web based businesses. This interest led me to enrol on a long distance course to study for my CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) certificate where I could learn more about the Internet, Internet business and web design. The course cost me a small fortune however I feel it was worth it as this pushed me in the right direction.

Soon after this a position had arose the media side of the company were looking for an HTML/Flash designer. After some careful thinking I thought I would apply for it, which was a major gamble as my salary, and client base was very healthy due to all the hard work I had put in.

Long story short, I got the job and started to bury my head in books to learn more HTML, CSS, flash and so on. From taking this position I feel that my interest in this subject seems to go from strength to strength. I thoroughly enjoy working in this position, I find that there is so much you can do from say, graphics, coding animating and the list just goes on. The industry is constantly changing, the technology is constantly upgrading so you never stop learning, which I find very challenging and exiting.

As well as web design I have a keen interest in computer graphics and 3d design visualisation where I hope you will find some examples throughout my website. I try to spare some time for this subject because I feel that 3d design will be integrated in web design more and more towards the future.

I am really exited to see where web design is going because so much has been developed in this Industry in such a small amount of time, I think the possibilities could be endless.
